Frequently Asked Questions

We have compiled a list of the most Frequently Asked Questions regarding the products and services provided by IRC Group Services, Inc.

How do I get a Certificate of Insurance?

You are able to request a Certificate of Insurance directly through the IRC Group Services website by completing the Request a Certificate of Insurance form found in the Client Service Center. You are also able to request a Certificate of Insurance by contacting an IRC Group Services Representative by calling our Toll-Free Number.

Am I obligated to bind my insurance through IRC Group Services after I receive  a quote?

No! At IRC Group Services we work directly with our policyholders and provide a Business Protection and Employee Benefits Plan based upon their unique needs and budget. Once we have provided a quote, there is no obligation to bind all of the coverages listed in the Business Protection and Employee Benefits Plan, this is only our suggestion based upon our extensive experience in commercial insurance.

How do I get my current Business Protection and Employee Benefits Plan analyzed by IRC Group Services?

In order to have your current Business Protection and Employee Benefits Plan analyzed by IRC Group Services, you will need to provide a copy of your current policies to an IRC Group Services Representative. Once we have received your current insurance policies we will review them, and provide you with our assessment of the types of coverages you should be carrying, any additional products you may want to add, and if we are able to assist you with getting a lower premium.

How can I make sure that my business is covered in the event of a lawsuit?

While most Business Owners' Policies (BOP) will provide some coverage in the event of a lawsuit against your business, the best practice is to also have a Commercial General Liability (CGL) and a Commercial Umbrella Policy in place. For more information on these types of coverages please visit the Business Owners' Policy, Commercial General Liabilty, and Commercial Umbrella pages located in the Business Coverage section.

When am I legally required to carry Workers' Compensation Insurance?

In both New York and New Jersey, employers are legally required to carry Workers' Compensation Insurance when they have more than one employee. Workers' Compensation Insurance covers an employee for any injury or illness that occurs while they are on the job. For more information please visit the Workers' Compensation page located in the Business Coverage section.

How do I make a change to my current policy?

IRC Group Services' Underwriting Department will be able to assist with any changes that you may need to make to your current policy. Due to the fact that insurance coverage cannot be bound or modified via email, it is best to contact an IRC Group Services Representative directly by calling our Toll-Free Number.

Why is IRC Group Services appointed by multiple insurance carriers?

At IRC Group Services we have always made it a point to work for our policyholders and not the insurance carrier. By becoming appointed with multiple insurance carriers, we are able to ensure that our policyholders not only have several options when creating their Business Protection and Employee Benefits Plan, but that they are also getting the lowest rate possible.

Is there any way to lower my insurance premiums?

Because IRC Group Services, Inc. works for the policyholders and not the insurance carriers we will constantly strive to ensure that your premium payments are as low as possible. We will also complete an annual review of your policies prior to your renewal date to confirm that you are getting the best rate possible. Additionally, as an employer there are several steps you can take to reduce your risk and possibly lower your premium. For more information on Safe Work Practices and Risk Preventation please visit the Loss Control Informationpage in the Client Service Center.

What are Worksite Products?

Worksite Products are insurance coverages that are offered by the employer, but typically puchased on an individual basis, rather than as a group product. Worksite products include, but are not limited to Supplemental Short-Term Disability, Hospital Indemnity, Cancer and Critical Illness Insurance, and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance. It is not mandatory by law for an employer to offer these types of products. For more information please visit the Worksite Products page located in the Employee Benefits section.
